We are currently weekend warriors on our Power Cat cruising our Florida Coastal waters as much as we possibly can. We have started this blog (not really sure how it works) to log and memorialize our adventures in our new to us 2002 PDQ MV 34 Trawler Catamaran..... Her name is “Almost Purrfect”. We spent several years searching for the “perfect” Boat, knowing already it does not exist. Funnily enough we started our search wanting a PDQ 34, but the costs for a (what I liked to call them) box on the water - due to their peculiar design, not quite looking like a sleek vessel or a traditional Trawler I just had a hard time justifying the prices they they were asking for available used PDQ's on the market. The Canadian company that made these PDQ's went out of business about a decade ago during the recession for various reasons. However after looking at thousands of boats on line, probably visiting about 100 in person at least 3 offers (on other boats) and one failed survey and sea trial (expensive lesson) on an accepted offer on a 46' Jefferson - the cost of the PDQ was starting to look very practical indeed. :-) View all posts by almostpurrfectpdq
